My installation of Logic Pro X (and GarageBand) include access to Apple's Symphony Orchestra (i.e. Jam Pack 4) which has a nice grand piano patch and some french horns and string pads I'd like to use.

Requires GarageBand (installed with iLife '04 or '05), Logic Express 7, or Logic Pro 7. Soundtrack supports Loops only in Jam Packs. Macintosh computer with G3 600Mhz processor or higher to use Apple Loops (G4 or G5 required for software instruments) 256 MB of physical RAM.

• Jam Packs are not restricted for use only in GarageBand. They can be leveraged by other Apple applications including Soundtrack Pro, Logic Pro, and Logic Express. Apple currently offers the following Jam Packs: Remix Tools; Rhythm Section; Symphony Orchestra; World Music; Voices; Each Jam Pack retails for approximately $100 USD.
• Using Jam Pack 4: Symphony Orchestra and GarageBand (or Logic Express 7, Logic Pro 7), there are virtually no limits to the types of sophisticated music you can create. Can I route Overture's track output to Apple's Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack? If so, is there some some basic setup I need to perform first? I've only used third party sample libraries in the distant past, and the Orchestra Jam Pack is automatically accessible in Logic, so I don't know what setup might be involved. Perhaps first I need to load Audio Units and its plug-ins to Overture?
On my Mac in /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple (among a collection of 20 folders) I see these folders

  • Jam Pack 4 - Symphony Orchestra — dated June 2013
  • Jam Pack World Music — dated June 2013

But these folders contain only .aif and .caf files, which appear to be simply short audio loops. I'm looking to hook up with audio units MIDI synth library
